Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy is a treatment that helps improve your functional abilities. It is part of the municipal healthcare service and is free of charge.

Description

Occupational therapists help find solutions when there is a gap between your health and the demands of daily life. An occupational therapist enables you to perform activities that are important in your life.

The occupational therapist:

  • Focuses more on solutions than problems
  • Always starts by asking what is important in your life
  • Assesses your abilities, what you want to do, and your surroundings
  • Provides and adapts assistive devices and welfare technology
  • Adapts physical environments at home, in kindergartens, schools, and workplaces

An occupational therapist helps you live as active a life as possible.

This service is part of the municipality’s interdisciplinary habilitation and rehabilitation program, available both in nursing homes and private homes.
